Callaghan.xyz is now live on a new website! It is a WordPress-based site with a custom theme that utilises full site editing. The custom theme and the extensive use of core block features make page creation easy, allowing me to focus more on content creation rather than the technical aspects of structuring a page.
The result is a website that is not only more user-friendly but also performs better, as certain assets are only loaded on pages that require them. GTmetrix and Lighthouse both provide excellent reports, even with minimal optimisation and running on Rooweb hosting.
Combining block theme methods with PHP offers a flexible approach for creating more customised websites. The review carousel on the home page is an example of this. I look forward to further customisations on callaghan.xyz.
